"Love one another -- as I have loved you."
John 13:34
Stephen Ministries
Our congregation's Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to
individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Stephen Ministers
are ready to provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty such as:
loss of a loved one, hospitalization, divorce, loneliness or discouragement, spiritual crisis, unemployment or a
job crisis, terminal illness, aging, birth, apoption, miscarriage, infertility, relocation, and many more. Stephen Ministry
is a confidential ministry: the identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship
remains private.
Second Stephen Ministry Class -- Fall 2009
Is God calling you to a new level of service? Perhaps being a Stephen Minister is right for you.
Beginning in June, Rev. Amy and Central's 10 current Stephen Ministers will begin recruiting
new candidates for the second Stephen Ministry class to begin this fall.
Our congregation's Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confident, one-to-one Christian
care to individuals in our congregation and the community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
While our pastors are always in the forefront during times of crisis, there are also always more needs for
ongoing one-to-one care than pastors can effectively meet by themselves. For this reason, Central has
opted to develop the Stephen Ministry under Pastor Amy¹s leadership.
Watch for 'Ministry Moments' from the pulpit and announcements in the bulletin to learn about upcoming
informational meetings and the opening of the application process. Use this summer as an opportunity to
explore whether Stephen Ministry is what God is calling you to do. You are also encouraged to contact
Rev. Amy or any of the Stephen Ministers to learn more.
Our Stephen Ministers are: Jayne Boeck, Becca Bruce, Steve DeWilde, Connie Hartline, Maggie Holley,
Diane Hunter, Bev Lindsey, Gary Loar, Roger Odneal and Shari Trillo. If you don¹t know any of them personally,
you can easily spot them on Sunday morningswith you about what Stephen Ministry means to them
and our congregation.
