Casavant Pipe Organ

Central UMC enjoys a wonderful pipe organ in our sanctuary.  The 3-manual (3 keyboards and pedal) organ was built in 1967 by Casavant Freres, St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada.  It is comprised of 52 ranks (52 sets of pipes) and is Opus 2931 (the 2,931st organ they built!).  The dedication was held in July of 1967.

Casavant updated our aging organ console (where the organist plays) to solid state electronics and refurbished all of the pipework in 2005.  The organ was re-dedicated by Central’s organist, Dr. Barry Wenger, in May of 2005.  This work brought the organ into the 21st century and it continues to be one of the best instruments in Kansas City.
