I’m Jim Simpson, and it is my privilege to be pastor of Central United Methodist Church and welcome you to our ministries!
I delight in our web address: CENTRAL CARES! We are a fellowship of faith committed to caring for each other and our neighbors with the love and grace of Jesus Christ. John Wesley (the original Methodist) said that “religion is never more and never less than love.” Grace, mercy, compassion, justice … the love of God in Jesus Christ is the heart and soul of who we are and what we do. With the love of Christ our Mission is to: Reach up to God, Reach within ourselves, and reach out to the world!
As pastor, the core of my ministry is to open doors. A significant verse of scripture says: I have opened a door before you that no one can close! Rev. 3:8 I invite you to share your spiritual journey with us as we respond to the invitation of Jesus Christ to grow in faith and to bring others the hopeful good news of the gospel.
I am blessed in life by my friend, partner and lover, Peggy. We have been married thirteen years; have seven children between us (none at home); a great daughter-in-law and son-in-law; and two pups (Mocha, the Chocolate Lab, and Sugar, a little Jack Russell). The past year has brought us the joy of two grandchildren, Braiden and Clara.
